It is indeed my privilege to represent Shrimati Vimalaben Khimaji Tejookaya, popularly known as SVKT College, run by Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik, in the capacity of Principal. Now, the college has been recognized as one of the best colleges in Nashik city that provides quality education. It is an ‘A’ grade recipient college from NAAC, Bangalore. The Government of Maharashtra has conferred Vanashri Puraskar  to the college for rendering its services to society. The College was established in the year 1984 against the heavy odds, when education was deprived to the weaker sections of the society and especially to girls. At its inception the college did not have its own building but with the constant efforts taken by the management of MVP Samaj, Nashik and especially, Late Dr, Vasantrao Pawar, the land was donated by a philanthropist family called Tejookaya. Now the college has its own two storied building.
It runs Undergraduate as well as Post-graduate Programmes. Along with the conventional Programmes the college has also been approved Skill based courses under B Voc and Community College by UGC (NSQF). The College also has an approved Study Center for Distance Education, affiliated to Yashwantrao Chavan Open University. Now the college has started few more PG Programmes as well as planning to start Research Centers in few subjects.

Since the college is located in the area of Cantonment Board, it has its own restrictions as far as expansion of infrastructural facilities is concerned. The unique feature of this college is maximum utilization of minimum resources. SVKT College is the only College in Nashik city that provides scholarship from Hindustan Petroleum, NGO to the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and Physically Handicapped students along with the other government scholarships. The institutions distinguished quality is that, by taking into consideration the students coming from around 45 remote villages, the college has started a Snacks Center (Puri Bhaji Kendra) at a nominal cost of just Rs. 6/- (Six Only).

I must thank all the well wishers of MVP Samaj, the Alumni Association, Parents, Students, and my staff for treating this college not as working place but as a home and supporting in every sense for the overall development of the College. I look forward to welcome you and wish each and every stakeholder of the college homely and enriching experience with us.
