It is with great pride that I represent Shrimati Vimalaben Khimaji Tejookaya College, popularly known as SVKT College, as the Principal. Run by the Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, Nashik, our institution has earned recognition as one of the premier colleges in Nashik, noted for its commitment to quality education. Our college has been honored with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC, Bangalore, and the Vanashri Puraskar from the Government of Maharashtra for its service to society. Additionally, SVKT College was awarded “Best College 2022-23” by SPP University.Founded in 1984 during a period when educational opportunities were limited, particularly for women and marginalized communities, the college initially operated without its own building. Through the unwavering efforts of the MVP Samaj and the support of philanthropist families like the Tejookayas, and particularly the late Dr. Vasantrao Pawar, we now boast a two-storied building.SVKT College offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including innovative skill-based courses approved by UGC under B Voc and Community College. We also operate a Study Center for Distance Education affiliated with Yashwantrao Chavan Open University and plan to introduce additional PG programs and research centers in the future.Despite the constraints of operating within a Cantonment Board area, our college maximizes resources effectively. Notably, SVKT College is the only institution in Nashik offering scholarships from Hindustan Petroleum and various NGOs for SC, ST, OBC, and physically handicapped students, alongside other government scholarships. Recognizing the needs of students from approximately 45 remote villages, we have established a Snacks Center providing affordable meals.I extend my gratitude to all supporters of MVP Samaj, including the Alumni Association, parents, students, and staff, for their dedication and support.
