I welcome all the stakeholders of SVKT College, Deolali Camp, Nashik, on behalf of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj Nashik. It was in the year 1914 when education was deprived to the suppressed class of the society and it was considered to be the right of only elite class, the socialists like Raosaheb Thorat and his supporters came forward and founded the institute in the name of Udoji Boarding with the motto,
“Education for the Masses”
|
The institute that began with just four students now has bloomed into a huge tree with the name of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj Nashik, the second leading educational institute in Maharashtra. Along with the conventional education the institute also runs professional colleges like Medical, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Nursing, Pharmacy and so on. There are 468 branches run by the institutes and …. Employees work under it.
The SVKT College was established in the year 1984 on the outskirt of Nashik city then. The college was established as there were students from around 45 remote villages who were deprived from education. When I take an overview of the college I feel very proud that the college is following the footprints of the founders of MVP Samaj. Now a day the college has been recognized as one of the safest colleges for girl students. It has taken many safety measures for girl students resulting into having more than 70% girl students.
It is one of the best colleges of MVP Samaj, which has developed a good rapport with its stakeholders like Alumni. A lot of collaborative activities are carried out by the college in order to extend its institutional and Social Responsibilities. The Government of Maharashtra has awarded this college with Vanashree Puraskar.
I congratulate the principal, faculty, students and all its stakeholders for the efforts taken by them for the overall development of the college. I wish them all the best for their future endeavors.
